Local Author Lisa M. Lucero Publishes Her 4th Novel

Dark fantasy thriller Night Shadow is now available on Amazon.

NEWTON, IOWA (January 2024) Lisa M. Lucero’s fourth novel “Night Shadow” is her first endeavor into writing a dark fantasy and crime thriller. The book is available in both paperback and e-book formats on Amazon. It will soon be sold at other booksellers.

After a visit to Salem, Massachusetts, in 2022 Lucero was inspired to write a magical tale with a weave of suspense.

Experience the horror that journalist Jesse Taylor of The Salem News encounters as he is threatened by the evil witch coven The Night Shadow Circle. While Taylor covers the recent disappearances and deaths in the dark woods of Salem, he soon discovers that the coven is behind it all. Taylor soon experiences unexplained events at his home, and a chilling message written in blood is left for him.

If that isn’t enough excitement, he finds himself dreaming each night of a beautiful woman who bewitches him. At first, he is drawn to her beauty, but things take a dark turn when she transforms into a ghastly evil figure. Taylor refuses to believe any of it is real, but then one day as he is doing yard work, he sees a woman who resembles the one in his dreams.

“Salem has always been a place of intrigue,” Lucero said. “I find that people who visit Salem are drawn to the art of witchcraft and what mystery and horror lies beyond it. There are many tales told there that still captivate people to this very day.”

Published by Light Switch Press, “Night Shadow” is a magical tale of mystery, love, horror, and betrayal. This haunting story will make readers want to watch their step while walking through the murky air and under the pale moonlight.

“I had fun creating the magical battles that take place in this novel,” Lucero said. “It really stirred up my imagination. The detective work done to solve the case in the story is like adding the icing to the cake. I know people will enjoy all the thrill and chills in Night Shadow.”

Lucero’s first book was the romance suspense novel, “Waves Crashing.” She followed that up with the science fiction page-turner “Death Firm” and its sequel, “The Re-Creation of the Death Firm.” She is currently writing a fifth novel, the murder mystery “Deadly Beats.”

Author Lisa M. Lucero Releases Her Third Novel

Sci-Fi novel The Re-Creation of the Death Firm is now available on Amazon

NEWTON, IOWA (September 2022) – Author Lisa M. Lucero recently published her third novel titled The Re-Creation of the Death Firm, which is the sequel to her second novel The Death Firm. The science fiction novel is available in both paperback and e-book formats.

Lucero’s interest in writing a sequel stemmed from the main character Winter Harris’ character development and the introduction of Dr. Fritz Camargo. She thought writing a sequel would allow readers a chance to learn more about Camargo’s motive behind creating the Death Firms. It also allows readers to delve into his background to figure out how Camargo’s mind works.

“I thought writing a sequel for The Death Firm was appropriate because there was so much backstory that needed to be told,” Lucero said.

Her love for science fiction and fantasy has stemmed back from her childhood during the 1980s.

“I’ve always had an interest in science fiction, dating back to my childhood when I devoured books and movies involving technology, science, and fantasy,” Lucero said. “The opportunity to write a book and expand my creativity seemed appealing.”

In the sequel, Camargo is among a team of scientists who recreates the Death Firms — monsters that are part human, part animal, and part robotic. Their original use was for military purposes, but Camargo has evil intentions. With the ability to transform the monster back into its human form, they can stay hidden in the public. It’s not long before the Death Firms are running loose with intent to kill and destroy.

Camargo is seeking revenge on Winter Harris, who studied the original Death Firm’s behavior patterns and figured out a way to kill them all. But Harris won’t go down without a fight. He contacts an old comrade, Lt. Col. Lee Alderson, who has a few battle tricks up his sleeve to resist the Death Firm’s attacks. “We can’t let ourselves get too scared,” Alderson said. “They can sense fear or any kind of weakness.”

With a winning combination of action, romance, and intrigue, The Re-Creation of the Death Firm will leave you clinging to the edge of your seat. You may even feel the need to take cover when the bullets fly and the explosions ignite.

“I like stretching out my imagination and creating a whole new world,” Lucero said. “The characters and scenarios in this book were fun to play around with during the writing process. Some of the twists and turns even surprised me.”

Lucero’s novel may be purchased on Amazon. It will be coming soon to Barnes & Noble and other online bookstore sites. Visit her website for more information at www.lisamlucero.com.

Author Lisa M. Lucero Releases Her Second Novel

Sci-Fi novel The Death Firm is now available at Amazon and Barnes & Nobel

NEWTON, IOWA (October 2020) – Author Lisa M. Lucero recently published her second book, titled The Death Firm. The science fiction novel is available in both paperback and e-book formats.

Whereas Lucero’s first novel was romance suspense, she decided to experiment with a widely different genre for her second book.

“I’ve always had an interest in science fiction, dating back to my childhood when I devoured books and movies involving technology, science, and fantasy,” Lucero said. “The opportunity to write a book and expand my creativity seemed appealing.”

Librarian Winter Harris’ life is completely changed when he volunteers to do research on the Death Firms, a monster that is part human, part animal, and part robot. The Death Firms were created by the military to use for border control and self-defense. The experiment went wrong when the Death Firms broke loose and started eating everyone in its path. It is all up to Harris to figure out a solution for fighting and killing the Death Firms.

“I like stretching out my imagination and creating a whole new world,” Lucero said. “The characters and scenarios in this book were fun to play around with during the writing process. Some of the twists and turns even surprised me.”
